Event FAQ's
Event Details
When and where is the event?
-
The Stars & Stripes Event will take place on July 4th at Anamax Park from 5:00 - 9:00 PM.
Is there an admission fee?
-
No. This is a free community event open to the public!
What time do the fireworks start?
-
The finale show featuring a drone show with firework elements is scheduled to begin at the end of the event at 9:00 PM. For more information on the fireworks, read the FAQ section below.
Will the splashpad be open during the event?
-
Yes! The splashpad is planned to be open for its regular operating hours during the event.
Drone Show & Fireworks
What’s different about this year’s fireworks show?
-
This year, Sahuarita’s Stars & Stripes aerial entertainment will feature a hybrid drone and fireworks show—a first for the event. Instead of a traditional firework finale, the night will close with a synchronized performance combining high-tech drone choreography, mounted pyrotechnics, and ground-level fireworks.
Why is the town switching to this new format?
-
The change was prompted by the relocation of the event site and the need to meet strict fire safety and fall-out zone requirements. The updated format was approved by the Sahuarita Town Council and designed to offer an exciting and safe alternative that fits the new venue.
Will there still be fireworks?
-
Yes, the show will still include pyrotechnic elements—just in a new format. You’ll see ground-level fireworks and pyrotechnics launched from the drones, designed to perfectly complement the aerial drone choreography.
Is the drone show similar to Fiesta Sahuarita’s?
-
Yes, if you’ve attended the Fiesta Sahuarita Drone Show, you’ll be familiar with the style. This show will build on that format, adding new layers of fireworks, sound, and synchronized effects to enhance the experience.
Where will the fireworks launch from?
-
The ground fireworks and drones will be launched on site via the southern end of the park property. Additional pyrotechniques will also be launched off the drones themselves.
Where is the best place to watch the drone and fireworks show?
-
The performance is choreographed for optimal viewing from the event area looking south.
Will I be able to view the show from my own home or elsewhere?
-
The best viewing experience will be at Stars & Stripes. The drones may be viewable in nearby neighborhoods, but the firework elements will only be visible to event attendees due to height and obstruction of view. We recommend attending Stars & Stripes for the full experience!
Will the show be loud like traditional fireworks?
-
While this show will still include some sound from pyrotechnics, the overall noise level is lower than that of a traditional fireworks-only show, making it more family-friendly, especially for those sensitive to loud noises
Parking and Transportation
Where can I park?
-
Event parking will be available at Sahuarita School District lots and Town Hall lots. For a map of available parking, click here.
Can I walk to the event?
-
While we recommend using the shuttle to enter the event, for those who are walking, the best access will be through the sidewalks by the Recreation Center Parking lot west of the event space. There will not be walking access from the South Parking lot, which will be used for drop off and shuttles only.
Is accessible parking available?
-
A drop-off zone in the south parking lot of Anamax Park will be available for those with accessibility needs. There are also accessible shuttles available for those who park in the off-site parking and would like to take the shuttle to the event. There will be limited handicap parking available in the north parking lot of Anamax park. That lot, however, does fill up quickly and will be closed in full.
Where are the shuttles?
-
There will be 2 shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations at the Ride Share lot northeast of Town Hall and one at the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse parking lot. Event attendees are encouraged to park in the nearby town or school parking lots and use the shuttles!
When will the shuttles be running?
-
Shuttles will begin picking up from the shuttle locations at 4:00 PM. The last pickup time from the shuttle locations will be 8:15 PM, after which all of our shuttles will pause during the finale show. Once the finale show ends, all shuttles will be taking attendees from the event to the off-site, shuttle locations.
Can I bring strollers on the shuttles?
-
Yes, you are welcome to bring your strollers on the shuttles by using the under storage areas. If you choose to utilize the under-bus storage for large items, it will be at your own risk. Neither the Town of Sahuarita nor the Sahuarita Unified School District and its drivers will be held liable for any damage, loss, or theft of stored items.
